So...as alot of you may know, I made a stop in Atlanta GA for awhile. Seen some things that should only be mentioned in books. Yet, I caught a glimpse of freshness when hearing a song on my friends Ipod one night. "Incredible" was the name of the tune....and Fki delivered it.
Meet Raye Rich and First Down (pictured on left), natives of Atlanta on a mission to bridge the gap between the mainstream/streets and sub-culture, Internet savvy music scene out of ATL. Most of the time, when anyone thinks of the music culture of Atlanta; one would seem to think of the likings of Ludacris, TI, amongst others. Not these guys... many bloggers and other outlets of media having been catching Fki's rays for sometime. (I'm just pissed I haven't heard of them sooner.)
With their eyes on the prize, FKi is set out to prove + tell that ATL has more to offer than what everyone is hearing on the radio and seeing on TV. I always hear of them performing in various college parties to mainstream venues....yet I never seen them live...just only on YouTube. (**coughs for suggestion of taking me to the next show followers!!**)
Blurbs in “The Fader” as well as guest posts from URB's own Next 1000-ite Mickey Factz should help solidify these two ATLiens as the new “Leaders of the New Cool” in the ATL Sub-Culture scene alongside the other MANY talented artist coming out of the “music Mecca of the South”.
From the fresh styles on their bodies to the magnitude of vocals and beats. Fki is a group to be watched.
Thanks to my buddy (and Fki management) Sean Famoso, who tweeted me their new video, "RED CUP". The edgy beat and stupid crazy fun on the video....it gives me a whole new meaning of "80's Babies". Hope you enjoy the video:
