The Buffalo Bills fired head coach Dick Jauron on Tuesday after a 3-6 start in which the offense has been one of the worst in the NFL.
Jauron was 24-33 since being hired by former general manager Marv Levy in 2006 to be head coach. He has two years remaining on his contract that is going to him a total of $6 million in 2009 and 2010.
Defensive coordinator Perry Fewell is expected to be named as the interim head coach. A separate announcement on the replacement was expected later Tuesday afternoon.
"I am announcing today that I am relieving Dick Jauron from his duties as our head coach, effective immediately," Bills owner Ralph Wilson said. "I have tremendous respect for Dick and thank him for all of his efforts during these past four years. While this was a very difficult decision, I felt that it is one that needed to be made at this time for the best interest of our team. We will now focus on moving forward and preparing for our game this week in Jacksonville."
Ok.. reports also stated that Jauron was blindsided by the firing..OMG!! Look guys...the Bills have not been on their A GAMEfor quite sometime. Yet this is not the first UNEXPECTED TERMINATION by an professional sports team in 2 weeks.
Remember Coach Byron Scott, yeah I know...TRAGIC!!
Of course you know, T.O. had something to say about this whole ordeal..on his Twitter.com page he quoted:
Jus wanted every1 2 kno that my tweet had NOTHING 2 do w/the fact of Coach Jauron being fired! I assume the timing of my tweet & breaking...
Nothing against you T.O., but the Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills are both proving they can win without you and you are and never going to be a IMPORTANT VOICE on any team.
Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo got along just fine, thank you, in a their victory over the Phildelphia Eagles on Nov 8.
Trent Edwards was been beating the New England Patriots in Gillette Stadium with nary a completion to Owens deep into the third quarter from what I remembered.
Edwards has completed 9 of 15 passes for 92 yards and a touchdown to rookie tight end Shawn Nelson late in the first quarter for a lead Buffalo hasn't surrendered.
Edwards tried to get Owens involved on a third-and-5 play in the second quarter, but Owens dropped the well-placed pass for what would have been at least a 9-yard gain.
So my question for you sexy fans out there?? If a franchise is voting on whether or not to fire staff...should an option of resign be in effect or just keep a blanket over there eyes??
Give me your answers on my Twitter (www.twitter.com/amile_waters)...I am still trying to tweek this blog out so comments can be made on here..
Until Next Time!!
